Shannon is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She founded Goldenturas because the psychiatry she believed in (unhurried, whole-person, honest about uncertainty) was getting harder to find inside fifteen-minute appointments.
The name comes from turas, the Gaelic word for a pilgrimage undertaken on purpose. As she puts it: the gold is what you come back with.
