I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice. I started Goldenturas for the people who want something different.
Plenty of people never find a medication that fits. That is not a failure of effort on their part, or of the person prescribing.
It is the honest limit of what we have. I started Goldenturas for the people who want something different.
Then we decide together what to do with it. Sometimes that means starting a medication, adjusting one, or coming off something that stopped helping. Often it means looking at sleep, grief, food, movement, and the parts of your history no one has asked you about yet.

Goldenturas combines “golden” with the Gaelic word “turas”.
A journey taken on purpose. It is my ancestors’ word, and what they carried came down to me the way most things do, without being named.
Their grief, their silences, their survival.
Some of it I have been able to set aside. Not all of it, and not quickly.
The other half of the name, waiting at the end of the walking.

Validated scales at regular intervals, alongside your own account of how life feels. If the two disagree, we talk about it.
I will tell you what the evidence supports and where it runs out, including when the answer is that this is not right for you.
We see patients throughout California by telehealth. This is a cash-pay practice; we do not accept insurance. I know that puts it out of reach for some people, and I would rather say so plainly than bury it.
